Excited to be invited! Kiev, Ukraine here we come

Seems like my original post didn't quite take us up to date fully so here goes. We have been invited to Kiev, Ukraine so our paperwork thus far is looking proper and good. Travel reservations have been made and come middle of July we are traveling to Ukraine. Traveling to an unknown yet exciting region, a new language, an entirely new adoption process than we previously were involved with, sheer excitement!

Прощай Росія Здравствуйте Україні - "Goodbye Russia, Hello Ukraine"

Hello Everyone! It's exciting to be back in the adoption loop again. Oh, its not easy being absent a few years and now going back, revisiting, recalling, re-establishing, redoing all that goes with the adoption cycle but its growing on us again. I know there are so many stages and things we are thankful to have experienced and moved on from but, being that we are young and we should be eager to do them all over again... even the not so fun ones.
We would like to formally announce that we are officially done with Russian adoption now that the US and Russia have severed all adoption systems. (yes, they claim Russian to Canadian adoptions are still working as normal but we can see the strain and extra loopholes being added to that process as well now.) As grateful and blessed as we have been in our original endeavors to adopt from Russia, its time to say "nas-va-dan-ya"(goodbye). On another note we would like to share at this time as well that we have successfully transferred all our paperwork to the Ukraine and will be, God-willing, adopting from Ukraine now.

Changing the whole side of the rubics cube...

With no hope of Russia - US adoption relations changing any time soon we are withdrawing from adopting from Russia for the foreseeable future. In a future post I will let our readers in on where we are going next. Most of our paperwork has been redone and redirected for another country and will soon be submitted to that new country at which time we will post on here the new direction we are taking and progress made. Thanks to all who pray for us and email/phone/comment their support in this tumulous venture.

The rubiks changes again...

Sad to inform our readers that due to a US slap on the wrist of the Russian involvement in something that doesn't even involve the US, the Pah-roos-kah's have slapped back. This childish slapping wouldn't be bad if it didn't directly affect the adoption demographics who have even less to do with this stupidity. What makes it even more ridiculous is the fact that the US has domestic/public and/or mass shootings every other week, an economy propped up on Popsicle sticks and heading for the Grande Canyon among other things AND they are busy with nonsense like this... speaks volumes about the state of the union.

Blog Face needs lift...

This blog which was created back in 2009 when we adopted Drew and Demitri has not had a face lift or any cosmetic makeover since its creation so today we decided to infuse some different elements and colors into it. Personally, I like dark background with light colored text. Hopes this works for our readers as well.

Visit rescheduled...

Logistical hiccup has now made us postpone our flights for this upcoming weekend to the following weekend. We have some papers that didn't get to Russia on time before we got there so rescheduled everything a week later. Can't say we are totally surprised, with international adoption you pretty much have to expect anything. There has to be some good in this I'm sure... stay tuned.
