Horse & Rider Statue - Bohdan Khmelnytsky

Walking around the square near St. Sophia Cathedral there are various church buildings, statues, monuments and museums. In pic Ryan is talking with our driver Mr. Encyclo-Rolodex about what the statue of horse and rider represents:
Bohdan was responsible for the uprising against the commonwealth and its magnates and resulted in the unification with the
Russian Empire in the 1600s.
