Hot Water: I've seen electric instant hot water units with no water storage tank to heat like this that didn't really heat much water but this propane fired one in the apartment actually ignites and flames up in a few seconds of turning faucet on, water is actually very hot. So the trick to this solution is it being propane or natural gas fired in order to work. I know we had a 3-phase electric powered light dimming one somewhere that didn't do much. The idea of this type of unit is to save energy because there is no 60 gal tank of water to keep hot. It instantly heats water as it flows through unit.
